Ikhtisar
Junior Dragons Track and Field is an engaging athletics program designed for students in grades 2 to 5, focusing on comprehensive skill development across a variety of track and field events. The program emphasizes participation, personal achievement, and fun, offering children the opportunity to explore running, jumping, and throwing activities. Through modified equipment and simplified rules, the program ensures that all participants, regardless of ability, can enjoy and improve their athletic skills. Regular weekly meets allow children to try multiple events and track their progress, with a strong emphasis on achieving Personal Bests (PBs) rather than competing against others.
In addition to fostering athletic development, Junior Dragons Track and Field promotes a strong sense of community and teamwork. Monthly track and field meets at the Cilandak campus provide a more formal setting for students to showcase their skills, including special events like the 200-meter and 400-meter sprints and hurdles. The program encourages family and community involvement, with parents and community members actively participating in meets and events. By incorporating health and well-being education, the program also teaches children the importance of staying active and making healthy lifestyle choices, aiming to cultivate a lifelong love for sport and physical activity in every participant. Come be part of our new Track and Field program!
This program is open to JIS and Non JIS students.

Equipment and Rules: To ensure safety and maximize fun, the program uses modified equipment and simplified rules. This approach allows younger athletes to participate without the pressure of full competition, focusing instead on skill development and enjoyment.
Weekly Track & Field Practice: Dragons Track and Field practices once a week at the Cilandak campus. The emphasis is on participation, personal improvement, and having fun rather than on winning. Every child has the opportunity to try various events and track their progress over time.
Monthly Track and Field Meets: Once a month, a special track and field meet is also held at the Cilandak campus. These meets take place on Saturday afternoons.
Personal Best (PB) Recognition: Junior Dragons Track and Field emphasizes achieving Personal Bests (PBs). Children are encouraged to focus on improving their own performances rather than competing against others. PBs are celebrated with certificates, ribbons, and other forms of recognition, fostering a sense of achievement and motivation.
Teamwork and Community Spirit: The program fosters a strong sense of community and teamwork. Group activities, including team relays and cooperative games, teach children the value of working together and supporting their peers. This community spirit is central to the program’s philosophy.
Family and Community Involvement: Parents and community members are encouraged to take an active role in the program, whether by volunteering at meets, helping with event setup, or simply cheering on the participants. This involvement strengthens the community and provides additional support for the young athletes.
Focus on Fun and Inclusion: The Junior Dragons program is designed to be inclusive, ensuring that children of all abilities can participate and enjoy the activities. The focus is on creating a positive and encouraging environment where every child feels welcome and valued.
Health and Well-being Education: In addition to physical activities, the program incorporates basic education on health, fitness, and nutrition. This helps children understand the importance of staying active and making healthy lifestyle choices, laying the groundwork for lifelong well-being.
End-of-Season Celebrations: At the end of each season, the program celebrates the achievements of all participants with a special event, recognizing the efforts and progress of each child. This celebration reinforces the community-oriented spirit of the program and leaves children with lasting positive memories.
Junior Dragons Track and Field is designed to inspire young students to develop their athletic skills, enjoy healthy competition, and build strong community bonds.
