One of the best parts about JIS is how lively, vibrant, and fun our community is.
There is always something happening at our school whether it be a Family Fun Fair hosted by the PTA, a celebration of Indonesia at our Elementary School, or mangrove planting in North Jakarta.
Events and celebrations, often as part of community service, are one part of what we do to show our appreciation for the place that we all live and learn and to strengthen our connections to each other.
The entire High School is buzzing with activities, from a raucous opening ceremony in the HS Gym to mental, physical, and artistic challenges that take place throughout our tropical Cilandak Campus.
Every year we honor our host country by celebrating Indonesia Week with students, teachers, and parents taking part in activities aimed to highlight the rich diversity of Indonesian culture.
Middle School Madness is a spirited event that sees teams of faculty and students, named after famous Indonesian volcanoes, compete in a series of challenges, from tug-of-war to water games where absolutely nobody stays dry.
Sponsored by the PTA, JIS Dragons from Early Years through High School, parents, faculty, staff and alumni get together to celebrate our school, play games, watch student performances, raise awareness for social causes, and have an all around fun time!
Uniting Nations (UN) Day is a much-loved JIS tradition that goes back decades, taking place from Early Years to High School. Each division celebrates our rich diversity as an inclusive, multicultural school.
At the event, members of the JIS community speak on a theme, and the depth of knowledge and creative thinking on display always makes for a fascinating day with much food for thought.
Careers Day aims to provide an opportunity for our high school students to learn more about and deepen their understanding of a variety of professions available to them.
