In this edition of Dragon News, we are shining a well-deserved spotlight on some inspiring Dragon alumni — from sustainability champions and Friends of JIS Foundation members to a JIS pioneer and a Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (BTI) Scholar with ambitious dreams for his community.
From teen go-karting prodigy to sustainability CEO, when Ivonne Bojoh (Class of 1992) sets her mind on something, she pours 150% of her dedication into the pursuit. For Ivonne, her goal is not just a passion; it becomes her calling.
Class of 1977 Alum Michael Brower describes himself as a bit of an "oddball." But judging by the glint in his eye and the slight smile as he says it, it's clear he's quite proud of the moniker. In fact, this very "oddball" quality has driven him to achieve amazing feats in both his personal life and career.

As an active member of various alumni organizations, JIS Alumna Nina Tao (Class of 1989) shows us that our connection to the schools we attend endures long after the day we move away or graduate.
Class of 2023 graduate Sakti Jati grew up with big dreams of using his passion for science to help develop his hometown in Central Java. Those dreams took a significant step forward when he arrived at JIS in Grade 10 as a Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (BTI) Scholar, where he found the support and resources to refine his plan.
When a flight of Dragons from the Class of 1986 gathered at the Bali reunion of 2018, they decided to show their love and appreciation of Indonesia by collecting a sizable donation for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF). Today, two of the campaign’s driving forces hope to bring it back.
In 1951, an aspiring educator named Hardiati Anwar joined the newly opened Joint Embassy School (JES), driven by a growing passion for teaching. Over 70 years later, she’s still remembered as a JIS pioneer who helped shape the fond childhood memories of generations of JIS Dragons.
