THe JIS Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Scholarship

JIS Scholarship Board will determine the JIS Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Scholarship award recipients based on the extent to which the candidates:

• Meet minimum JIS Admissions Policy requirements
• Demonstrate the JIS Values and Dispositions
• Demonstrate academic excellence
• Can contribute positively to the JIS community
• Demonstrate financial need

The selections process includes admission tests, an essay, student interviews and a meeting with the applicant’s parents.

Aspiring JIS scholars must be able to study in English. We do not expect native speaker levels of proficiency as scholars will learn that at JIS.

There are no fees for applying. Students who are selected to receive the scholarship do not pay any fees. All school fees are supported by private donors. In addition to school fees, JIS service partners Sodexo Food Service and Bluebird Transportation Group sponsor free meals on campus and free transportation to and from school.

Starting a demanding university preparation course such as the International Baccalaureate or the Advanced Placement and acclimatizing to JIS which is a very different type of school, will be two huge challenges. To lessen the burden the latest grade level we accept scholars into is Grade 10. This allows Grade 10s a year to adapt to JIS before starting IB or AP classes.

We do not currently offer boarding. This may change in the future.

JIS offers three main curriculum pathways. The first of these leads towards the JIS High School Diploma which is an accredited qualification valued for entry at universities all over the world. The second is the International Baccalaureate Diploma, one of the most prestigious pre-university programs in the world. Our third curriculum pathway is the Advanced Placement program which is similar to the IB Diploma in some respects but courses only last one year. 

JIS has a team of highly trained and experienced academic advisors known as counselors who work with students and parents to ensure that students choose courses that match their aptitudes and interests.

Yes. In line with Ministry of Education regulations, all Indonesian students will take the National Exams at the end of Grades 6, 9, and 12.

No. We provide extensive support and we know that any successful scholarship candidate will have the mental resilience and character to improve their grades. 

JIS has over 500 activities. Athletics to service (e.g. Habitat for Humanity), leadership (e.g. Student Council) to special interest clubs like cooking, magic, or computer coding. Students who are interested in an activity that is not currently on offer can organize a club themselves under the supervision of a JIS faculty adviser.

There is a musholla on campus and students can participate in Friday prayers and daily sholat.

Yes. There are JIS students, teachers and assistant teachers who proudly wear a hijab. JIS is a multicultural school which values and respects faith.

Bullying of any kind is not tolerated in any way at JIS. We have very strict policies against bullying.

Everyone is unique, every JIS student is unique, no one will know that you are a scholarship student and you will be treated exactly the same as any other JIS student.

70% of JIS teachers are from North America. The remaining  30% are from 26 different countries including Indonesia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, and many more.

Dewan Beasiswa JIS akan menentukan penerima beasiswa JIS Bhinneka Tunggal Ika berdasarkan pencapaian hal-hal dibawah ini:

• Menunjukkan nilai-nilai dan karakter JIS
• Menunjukkan keunggulan akademis
• Dapat berkontribusi secara positif kepada komunitas JIS
• Membuktikan kebutuhan finansial

Proses seleksi meliputi ujian penerimaan, menulis karangan, wawancara dengan calon penerima beasiswa serta pertemuan dengan orangtua calon penerima beasiswa.

Memulai kelas-kelas persiapan perguruan tinggi yang tuntutannya sangat tinggi seperti International Baccalaureate (IB) atau the Advanced Placement (AP), disertai oleh penyesuaian diri dengan sekolah baru di JIS yang merupakan tipe sekolah yang sangat berbeda, merupakan dua tantangan yang luar biasa. Untuk mengurangi beban siswa, kelas yang tertinggi yang kami terima adalah Kelas 10. Dengan demikian siswa Kelas 10 mendapatkan satu tahun penuh untuk beradaptasi dengan JIS sebelum memulai kelas-kelas IB maupun AP.

Saat kami ini tidak menawarkan program dengan asrama. Tetapi ini dapat berubah di masa yang akan datang.

JIS memiliki tim penasehat akademis yang terlatih dan berpengalaman yang dikenal sebagai Konselor. Mereka bekerjasama dengan para siswa dan orangtua untuk memastikan bahwa siswa memilih mata pelajaran yang cocok dengan bakat dan minat siswa.

Ya. Sejalan dengan Peraturan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, semua pelajar Indonesia akan mengikuti Ujian Nasional pada akhir kelas 6, 9 dan 12.

JIS menyediakan lebih dari 500 aktivitas. Bullying maupun hal-hal yang serupa dengan bullying tidak ditolerir dalam bentuk apapun di JIS. Kami memiliki kebijakan yang sangat ketat dalam menghadapi kasus-kasus Bullying.
